Non-Club Events - Sun 22 May

The Foresesters, Kirdford v The Cricketers, Wisborough Green

Mavis Rauch reports:

THE RUSTY BOULE TROPHY 2011
At Karl's request the Club organised this inter-pub competition for the first time in 2009.

Players from The Foresters and The Cricketers in Wisborough Green competed and The Rusty Boule Trophy, which was designed and made by Karl, was won by The Cricketers.

On Sunday, Peter, Mavis, Sonia and Bob organised the 2011 re-match. Each pub had 19 players and this year The Foresters got their revenge. They won the trophy by 15 games to 6 and Emma won First lady. The First man was Phil who had never played before but had obviously benefited from his pre-match private tuition from Sonia.

After the match we all enjoyed the barbeque. Judging by the laughter and the noise levels, the afternoon was a great success and there were many requests for another meeting.

Worthing Open Triples

Mike Kateley reports:

Marie Helene, Christine and I entered the Worthing Open Triples yesterday 22nd May. We all played well and ended up in the final of the Cup (the top competition) against the young ones from Bordon loosing in the final 13 points to 8, we each received a trophy and two bottles of wine. It was a most enjoyable day - more of you should try these competitions
