Southern Counties Results
Mike Kateley reports:
Your Southern Counties team, the Wasps, recorded another outstanding victory this afternoon (4th June) winning against the Southampton Pilgrims by 5 games to ZERO (2 x triples and 3 x doubles).
Ian and Sonia won their doubles game with a FANNY!
The team was Mike & Christine, Sonia, Marie Helene, Chris Molsher and Ian. The team very much appreciated the supporters who stayed on and enjoy our games.

NDPL ABC Wasps v Crondall Panthers Thu 2 June
Alex Myles reports:
A disappointing result in the match played at Kirdford in beautiful weather on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers got their revenge for their previous 5-4 home defeat by us, by winning 6 games to 3.
I had been outmanoeuvred, before we even started to play, by Crondall’s Captain, Beryl. On this occasion, two of their previously weaker team members were substituted by much stronger players. I however fielded what was a totally different team, with the exception of one player. I hadn’t aimed at maximising strength, but had picked a team based primarily upon a desire to give all members of our squad (who are all both enthusiastic and competitive in spirit) an equal number of games - allowing for declared availability.
The net result was that we were not strong enough to prevent Crondall getting their revenge.
Jean Green and Glynn Warren won one game for us, but Jill Myles and Margaret Fox sadly lost all three games. Jean Vanstone and I had managed to win two quick games straight off but then lost our third.
C’est la vie!
